The DeOmes first Blog Entry!

Hi folks, Here we are in heartland of NY.  We arrived in the states on May 8th and spent the first weekend in Salt Lake City with our daughter Shelly and her husband Jim.  It was a great reunion as we hadn't seen them since they married on June 5, 2010. From there we flew to Kansas City and picked up our lease car and drove to Oklahoma City where we were reunited with our son, Danny and his wife Alma and our three grandchildren.  Christine is already 9 and Angeline is 7, and Eric just turned 5.  Wow how time flies.  Our friends Ron and Vicki Burke graciously allowed us to make their home our home for the time we are in the states.  We had the privilege to attend our nephew Stephen's wedding in Portland, Oregon.  It was great to see some family there and we took the time to do some sightseeing while we were there.  That was great bonding time.  We flew back to Oklahoma City, did laundry, and packed the car and took off to see our oldest daughter Cindy and her husband Brandon, and our three grandsons, Perry, Bryan, and Braden. Perry graduated from high school and Brandon graduated from Troy University with a BS in Criminal Justice. We enjoyed 4 days there with reminiscing and getting to know the boys again. We drove to Durham, NC to have our first furlough meeting at Fellowship Baptist Church.  We stayed with old friends, Wendall and Dianne McKinney, and enjoyed the fellowship. Well, so far we have been blessed to see many family members and old friends. We will update you more as time goes on.  We are adapting well to the temperature, but still need a sweater now and then. We are loaded with blessings.  God is sooooooo good!
